Waiting On A Button….

…….well a few Buttonbushs to be exact. Any normal year they would be here within a few weeks but it looks like the harsh Winter has but them in  delay pattern. What to do till their arrival? Look at and post pics from last year. Here is one of these great little pollinator filling stations at work!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Quiet, Lovely Little Fleabane

I took this shot July of 2012 with my Pop’s FujiFilm S5700 after visiting with he and my Mom. Most of my shots suffered greatly during most of 2012 due to many factors: My beloved Canon Powershot S3is died and I had to learn a new camera( minor issue), Pops had a heart-attack due to the stress of being Mom’s diagnosed with stage-four lung cancer, and the knowledge that I had just spent the last Mothers I ever would with my Mom. Oh, we also had a family member living with us who was suffering from severe depression. To say 2012 was a hot-mess of a year would be an understatement but I still had nature and photography as my solace. It was a place where I could go and listen to and for the quiet things. It allowed me the space to detect the whisper that is faith and to connect to hope. I found those thing through the lens and in the smallest of things like this quiet, lovely little Fleabane.

Louisville From The Sunny Side

I hope to get some fresh captures soon but life has me taking captures of people not things right now. Not my strong suit but feeling the need to be stretched and who knows where that experience will take me. So I went back a few clicks in time to when I was back in Indiana visiting my brother. After a great visit I decided to stop by some of my old haunts on my way back home. One of the places I loved to hangout at was on the shores of the Mighty Ohio River. I took this on what is known as The Sunny Side of Louisville and about two feet from the Ohio River itself. I did a HDR photo effects on it to try to get the blues to pop……..Enjoy!

One Misaligned Vine

Most people think that the Trumpet Creeper Vine is at the very least a nuisance. This is unfortunate since most do not know its part in supporting the ecosystem. Yes it can take over an area pretty quick but with a little due diligence and strategic bushwhacking it can be keep in check. The upswing in doing so is a very beautiful vine and a hummingbird magnet. Here are a few pictures I took with my Canon G3 several years back of this one misaligned vine.

Roses Along The Way

I was making a delivery several years back when I came across these understated yet beautiful roses. The fence in the picture looks like it is old but is in fact old wood used to make a decorative accent to a small flower garden. I used my now unusable PowerShot G3 in this shot. I miss my G3 and am glad Canon fixed a design flaw it had on the later generation PowerShots. I am however looking for a way to fix it but  I am happy and feeling blessed  with the cameras I have. So here is some Roses along the way.
