The Day Greets The Queen

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Well, um, actually the day greeted  this Queens Anne’s Lace I found up the road from our place. I also discovered it is also called the Wild Carrot and the modern carrot we eat today was more than likely cultivated from this plant. Yes you can eat the tap-root but I am not sure about the rest of the plant.  Just a bit of nature trivia to start your day and may it be a great one!

A Couple Of Crazy Days

I have had two of the craziest days this weekend.  The Bride is in school again and I am her lab partner or ” slave monkey and photo bug” if you wish. The great thing of on-line schooling is that which is also the worst thing: Technology!  We are having issues to say the least…uh not us but with the techno-stuff.

I also have had a mechanical issue with my ride and found out today I will have to get the last little part, to finish the job, from the dealer. Oh, I also got a foreign object stuck in my eye.( I seem have a gift for this but it still stinks when it happens.) After flushing my eye for at least a half an hour, and what seems to have been divine intervention, I am object free in the eye department.I have never felt pain like that before and I am gratefully for the gift of sight.

So what to do in such a frenzied mess?   Share some captures I grabbed in between the madness!

I used my SX260 on Live mode for this hand held shot last night of the Supermoon.

The Fleabane are back and I am glad. I grabbed this shot as they were closing for the evening. I used my SP-350 for this one.

This is a Buttonbush bud and when they bloom they are a great asset to nature. I used my SP-350 on this shot as well.

I love Damselflies and this one is really cool. I used my Powershot Sx10is in this capture.

I have a FujiFilm S700 my dad gave me and I used that for this shot. I by the way love taking pictures of rusty things!

I took this last night using a tripod and my Powershot SX10is on full manual. I was having a issue with it being to beige and set the white balance on "florescent" and this is the result.

A Lovely Start

I love photographing thistles in full bloom and the potpourri of pollinators that populate them. I have tried several times to get an acceptable capture of the thistle as it starts to bloom but I have not been happy with the results. That changed tonight, when I downloaded the below picture, and finally got a decent shot of a thistle in the early stage of blooming. Yes I think it is a lovely start.

I used the long end of the zoom on my Powershot SX10is in this shot.

Sun Drenched Roses

I love the differing textures of the brick wall, the roses and the amble sunshine on both. I do not however know how to get my Roses, or Reds for that matter, not to wash out or seem “too” red. I will say I like this one anyway and if someone has any tips on why my reds are too red let me know 🙂

Sunshine Theraphy

I went to the doctor yesterday for a recurring issue and as usually she prescribed me some meds and ordered bed rest. After about seventeen hours of bed “rest” I needed a break. Bed rest wears a person out, how weird it that? So I took a walkabout on our place to soak in some rays. There is not many things on this planet better than Sunshine Therapy!

Here are a few from that walkabout.
