A Voilet and A Vulture
I was trying to get a few “into the sun” shots of our Violets when I was once again interrupted by my puppy, er cat Butterfly. Where I goes she goes and though I usually do not mind there are times that it is a problem. As I tried to take a few shots more of the Violets, with her walking on me and the rubbing up against my hand and camera, I looked up and spotted something dark against the Blue sky. It was a Vulture riding the wind that is coming into our area by an approaching cold front. So I have two very different subjects but I find each to be very beautiful in their own right.
A Dab Of Spring
Full To The Brim
I spent many hours of my youth down on the fossil beds at the Falls of the Ohio. This shot is where the dam holds back the Ohio during normal river levels. The railroad bridge is a visual line at the start of the fossil bed. I hope to get some shots sometime from down on the bed’s floor but as you can see the Falls of the Ohio is Full to the brim.
Little Splash Of Purple
On my walk down to the creek today I came across a little splash of purple. It was a small patch of Violets and it harkened me back to the first part of my photography re-awakening. I quit shooting film because I had rounded off the camera’s film advancing wheel and just never sought out another camera. Well that was till my Dad gave me an old HP 315 and from there I was hooked. The next camera was a Vivitar 8300 and that camera cemented my love for photography and more specifically nature photography.On my way back I spent some time using a blast-from-the-past, the Canon S3is, to grab a few captures. It was a challenge because my outside cat Butterfly follows me around like a puppy, a pushy puppy, but like a puppy none the less.
Down By That Muddy River
Today after my brother and I finished some estate biz and a nice breakfast I grabbed me some sunny day captures. Welcome back Mister Blues Skies and Sunshine, you make this rain-swollen river look good!
My 600th Post
As I posted yesterday a number on my nine caught my attention: Post number 599. I really did not think much of it but as my six-hundredth post was looking me in the face this Evening I had nothing. As a semi-grown up I spent several hours more on my taxes trying to find all I have coming to me and The Bride. No more but no less and a very tension filled dance indeed. After that last tango with my soul, and the tax code, I did not feel like posting. As a distraction I decided to look through some files off my old Dell to see if I had missed any hidden treasures that may lift my spirits. I found it in the form of a capture of a great feline and wonderful companion named Freckles. Though no longer with me and The Bride in the flesh he lives on through us to be My 600th Post!
An Old 35MM
I found this shot I took back in 86′ with a Canon 35MM film camera down Corpus Christi way. I scanned it to my computer and converted it to a JPEG to share. That went well but I did not wipe off the scanner surface of dust first…… but with that said here is an old 35MM.
One From Pop
I was looking through some of the xD cards of my Dad and found a treasure: Pictures he took. Simple captures and moments I get to look into. For me that is very nice. Here is one from Pop.
A Couple Of Hand Held HDR Photos
As I mentioned in yesterday’s post I had spent the hour I had to kill taking some pics. Since I do not own a good, or even a half-way decent tri-pod I did these hand. With that said any ideas on a good-to-great-very-mobile-lightwieght-full-size-tri-pod?As I wait for replies to this question, here are a couple of hand-held HDR photos.
