A New Face On Our Place
As I was taking The Boy on his regular evening adventure we came upon a lovely grey cat. It was sleeping in the ex-garden bed (It is still a garden bed but now it is just one in waiting…as waiting till next year since it did not happen this one!) enjoying the days last rays. That is not the new face though he is the reason I came back out. I wanted to see if I could find him to make sure he was not a lost cat but instead I found something else: Here is the new face on Our Place!

Building A Tree House
The Bride and I had a great day at the lake yesterday. As we walked-about we noticed a small bird skimming over the water. We followed it as it landed on the top of the remains of one of two trees in the water of the small inlet we stood by. As we watched another bird came into view and then seemed to disappear. The Bride thought it took off in the opposite direction and the trees blocked our view. I thought so too until the second bird seemed to emerged out thin air. All the while the first bird simply sat atop the highest of the two trees.
We decided to walk around the inlet to get a closer look of the trees. As we were looking I noticed a small hole in the shortest of the two trees. Just then a little head stuck out of the hole! Then it was gone but we were hooked. I mean how cool was this: These two little birds had made a home out these old, dead trees. We sat and watched them and I tried to get a few shots of them coming out of the hole with no luck. On to Plan B.
Plan B was simple: The Bride was my spotter and I focused on the trees with my camera. Well we spent a good amount of time trying to capture the birds coming and going but had little success. The two below are the best I could do but spending time with The Bride and observing the going ebb and flow of nature, well that is priceless! I hope to go back and spend some more time watching these two awesome little birds.
The Bride and I think these two are Tree Swallows. If otherwise let us know by commenting.
A Walkabout At The Lake
Not What It Seems
One From Awhile Ago

Work has kept me pretty busy lately so no new captures for today. I have several I need to download but busy is getting in the way of my fun 🙂 Being a grown up stinks sometimes 😉 Till the next time here is one from awhile ago!
A Few On The Fly
Here are a few shots I captured out of the window of my little world.

All pictures were captured with my Powershot SX260HS
Just Passing Through
I spotted this blackbird feeding and was drawn to its magnificent blue/green on black combination of its feathers. I have never seen this bird before so I had to take a couple of pictures for, er,uh…reference. Yes that’s it for reference. After a little online rooting I found out this is a Brewer’s Blackbird. It seems these wonderful birds are not from around here but was just passing through to it’s normal breeding grounds up north and northwest.
More Little Treasures
The bride to The Boy to the creek today after work. When they came back she told me about a little vine with purple flowers on it she had found. I went with her and The Boy back down to the creek. I found the vines by said little purple flowers about the same time the clouds found the sun. Since I am who I am I took the shot(s) of this little treasure. Below, accompanying the purple flower, is a Fleabane I found with a little moth on it.
Both the above picture were taken with my Canon Powershot SX10is
A Bee In The Apple Tree

The last time I posted an Apple Blossom the bees had not shown up yet. They arrived mid-week and I have this capture to prove it 😉 There hopefully will bee more to come (both bees and pictures)!
