A B&W Plus Some Rusty Things

I took the following with my PowerShot G3. All the photos are things on our old barn. Hope you enjoy them!

Nailed this shot down with my G3 by playing with the exposure plus the white balance setting.
I love the textural feel of this shot. Old barn wood and a rusty nail are a great combo don’t you think.
A rusty hinge and dry wisps of not-so-long-ago-alive grass.

As The Day Fades

The sun was rapidly sliding down the day into the approaching dusk as I was mowing the yard. The next few days will be rainy so I just had to stop  to get a few shots in. Here are three from around our place this evening. Enjoy!

These Thistles, along our fence line, are patiently waiting to deploy the last of its thistledown. They will not have to wait long as Autumn is steadily pushing its way into the area.
The Fleabane are all but gone from our place. The only thing that remains are the stalks and the thrones upon which they had once set.
A solitary Grasshopper was a surprise third element of this photo. I was trying to get the contrast between the rust of the fence post and the dead heads of the summers past Golden Rod. As I was focusing a little head pops over the top of the post. I just had to come around and take this shot.

I took all the above photos with my Minolta DiMage S414.

Odds And Ends

The Bride and I spent the day at a small town Festival last month. As we walked about the varies booths and shops I and took the shots I like taking. So here are a few odd and ends from the day.

Taken with my old nemesis the Olympus SP350
This picture is of an old school desk that has been used as a canvas for this lovely cat. This to was taken with my old nemesis the Olympus SP350
I found this set of statues in one of the booths. I love it!

New Old Tech

In my world anything new-to-me-old-but-new-at-one-time-tech is as good as for-real-new tech. That was actually going to be post title but it is even long for me, Mr Run-On-Sentence guy! What me started on this newest quest for old tech gear was the re-birth of my Canon PowerShot SX260: I now have placed it in a safe, and dry, place and take it out only in high and dry situations. It came back to life once I do not want to try for a second go at that little miracle.

So I have purchased two used Minolta DiMage four megapixel point and shot  cameras. I have received the DiMage S414 and the photos that follow were taken with it. I hope the sun is out this weekend so I can take a walkabout and run it, and its soon to be here mate the Dimage S404, through their paces. Enjoy!

Not much left as far as colorful things go around our place. But if one looks you can usually find something to shoot.
This leaf and few of it’s fallen friends have some color left. Photo ops aside it would be nice if they would rake and bag their selves.
Me bored at lunch time today.
