It is now officially Staycation time!

At a this past weekends Cruise I saw a lot of very nice cars and trucks but this was the coolest of all. Here is Some Beetle Love!

I was a passenger in a 60’s Bug that flipped three or so times on
I-65 back in the early 90’s. I know about every inch of the inside of these babies and still love em! Β Spin-cycle in a Bug and lived to tell about it . Bet you will not find that on a t-shirt π
For those of you who follow my blog, both of you, there are a few things you know I love. Yesterday I got to enjoy a couple of those things, Rust and Cruisin”, all in one place. Here some Rust, White and Blue!

I will post some more shots later of yesterdays adventure!
Since early Spring I have been in running in recovery mode. It is an automated state of being that gets one through a tragedy but at the same time it gives space to a heal from the catastrophic event(s). All through my troubles of last year I have been blessed with understanding, or at least tolerating, people who have helped and encouraged me through dark times. One of those is a couple who have their own set of troubles but have shown me much kindness in spite of their own challenges. They know I like taking pictures and are generous in allowing me to take photos around their place. So here is a belatedΒ Thanks for the kind words and prayers.
I have a love for old cars and was stoked to find this old Pontiac. I am pretty sure it is a Trans Am of the mid-to late Seventies vintage. What I am sure if it is Cool even in its less than pristine condition. I saw this and thought it would be a great HDR subject. I took the photos to merge with my PowerShot SX10is. The very last picture, taken for comparison of original subject to HDR, I tookΒ with my Olympus SP-350. So here is a Trans Am in Three Flavors of HDR.

I wanted to try something a little different for this post. Normal I photography organic things, things that are green, blossoms, bees and such but today was different. Why? The sky was incredibly rich today. With the contrast of white clouds against the brilliant blue it got me thinking trying some captures in B&W. I know it sounds weird but I thought I could get completely different feels from shooting the same object against this beautiful sky.
Where could I do this to good effect? The Cemetery of course! I had just a few minutes on my way home to grab these and plan on going back but till then: Where to now?

Though I have not an opportunityΒ to get to know my D60 better on the up side I have done some work around our place. Sorry no photos on that end but trust me I am truly saving you from being underwhelmed. What I did get to do was do a quick walkabout this evening Β with my Canon Powershot SX10is. Here are a few since the last time!
This wasp is either bring home dinner or getting ready to go fishing. Dinner I think, no?
The Monarch Butterfly is one cool Butterfly. Every Summer I Β marvel at these wonderful butterflies but there are less of them to marvel at it seems recently. One blogs I follow, Her Way at Crabtree Gardens, has a passion for these Magnificent Butterflies as well. Β Check her place out and hear her thoughts on this subject.
I cannot shot reds of yellows very well. Just can not do it. So as I was checking out one of the Blogs I love, Googsy Photography, I came across this beautiful yellow Tulip he had captured so very well. I commented how I have trouble with the color yellow in my captures. His Β gracious reply with words of encouragement had me pursuing a great capture of yellow flora. Well the above capture is not great but I wanted you to see this little yellow flower just because…it is really tiny! That is my wedding band for a size comparison.
Smooth Phlox taking in the last golden rays of the day on our place.
I have been in pursuit of a good shot of this Dragonfly. I saw it for the first time on our place a few weeks back. I have been on the lookout for it since. Today as I standing on the path to the creek it showed up just outside optimal shooting range of course! And as you see it is green. So is grass. We have a lot of tall grass on our place so it was challenge to get my camera to focus on the Dragonfly not the grass. Β I lost a lot of the battle but this capture was worth it. Notice its lower left-wing: Part of it is missing. Trust me it did not affect its ability to fly and allude me!
