It Sings To Me

The past year has been a difficult one for some of the folks in my community. (For the record it does not matter if it is my online community or those I see daily). Life has been quite a bit like, well life, and it seems to be the gift that keeps on giving.

The last several days have been productive around our place but in that time I have visited some of my community in the hospital and at a nursing facility. Not much time left I am afraid for new captures. So I went to the way-back-files for something to share. As I was looking I found this capture from my old Canon G3 and it sang to me. May it sing to you as well.

Three From The S3is

I love my Powershot S3is but lately I have used my Powershot SX10is and the Olympus SP-350 as my main shooters. So this afternoon I got my S3 out and went for a walkabout. Here are three from the S3is.

Incoming!

I was trying to get a few decent captures of the hummingbirds on our place before they migrate. I lined up this shot, took the snap and looked up and the hummingbird was about four feet from me! It was just hanging out and seeing what I was up to I suppose. It flew off and I knew I missed the shot. When I downloaded the pics this is what I captured.

The Boy and His Charge

I was searching the- way- back files when I came across the following photos. We were watching our friends little puppy while they were out-of-town. The Boy was a trooper and let the little one chew on him and chase him around unceasing till the both were too pooped to play any more. He showed great care and patience with her I must say because I had to take her to work with me and she was a hand full! I love that stinking dog!

Out My Office Window The Weekend Past

The mornings were unusually and delightfully cool this weekend past. As I drank my first Cup-of-Joe, sitting on the front porch, I watched the coming and goings of the Hummingbirds who have blessed our place this year. With the hot caffeinated brew, and the rising sun, warming me bones I formulated a plan and set about trying to get a few good-to-great captures of them.

I found a good spot close to some Jewelweed they seemed to like and nestled in with some fauna between it and me for cover

I would ease up and snap a shot or two but found the speed of the Hummingbird to be more than me and my Canon point & shot was able to come to grasp with.

Since I could not get the captures I wanted I could not help feeling blessed none the less. I was enjoying the beautiful blue sky and the whimsical cirrus clouds so life was great.

As I was setting there enjoying the day and the inner play of the Hummingbirds I saw that one keep going to this tree. Can you find it?

I was able to get several shots of this little poser. I hope you enjoy this lovely as much as I did and do!

Almost Missed It

I was walking down the path to the creek on our place and snagged my shirt on blackberry bramble. As I went to push it the part that snagged me out the way something out-of-place caught me eye. I had to go around the bramble a little to get a good look at what it was. I am glad i did because I almost missed it!
