More From Yesterday’s Snow Day

The snow, though lingering, is in its final meltdown as we speak. I am glad I got several good captures yesterday and a good walk in with The Boy. The first shot is one of the branches on our sycamore tree. The second is of a seed-pod on said tree. As I was taking the last shot the temps were coming up and all the snow on the branches were coming down. I liked the effect but I also was a little nervous because I did not has my lens rag with me and needed to dry it off quickly. Thankfully these shots were taken on our place, so a dash in to the house and the lens was taken care of in short order.

More Fowl Things And Some Color

This evening post features two captures I took late this afternoon. I wasn’t going to post again but thought mrsbearfoot @ Enjoying Life Wherever It Takes Us might like the fowl shot. You should visit her place, I think you will like it. The second shot is of some vegetation that is not dead. Love the color it added to my day.

A Goose

IMG_2136

I was out at the lake today taking in the rays and the sights. With the temps being in the mid-forties and the sun shinning folks turned out to enjoy the day. As I walked around I observed this goose swimming close to the shore line. As it came ashore to search for bits of food left by us hairless apes I took this shot. I am just now trying to learn the different types of geese that populate the lake. I have not been able to identify this one yet but she’s a beauty. Those orange ringed grey-steel eyes and vibrant bill and feet set of the rather understated white with  a splash of grey and brown feathers.

DragonFly as Fine Art

I do not know if others agree but I think this one is a keeper. I have played around with photo effects and find I am very picky as what I call good, well least ways with my stuff. This one I like and would love to have a metal print made of it and to hang it on my wall. DragonFly as fine art, I like it!

A Little Too Much Flash

Tonight I found this photo I took at the end of this past fall. Since I took this shot I have learned about flash diffusers and thought it would have been nice to had one for this shot. It would have also been nice to have known how to back the flash input down, I know how to do that now, and I should have used a tripod as well.I did shot this at the far end of the zoom to lessen the impact of the flash so the tripod would have been a good thing. But none the less I like the shot and at least I have learned a bit from having a little too much flash.
