A Dragonfly On Our Place
I wish is was a real dragon but a dragonfly is still really cool too. I just wished I could tell them apart because, there seems to be a main type and it’s family on our place, yet there are several others species that come through from time to time. I have no idea where they are going or where they have been but the just show up for a breath in time then off they go. Me? I am left wondering and searching for answers which is a good thing I believe. This photo is of the skimmer family and is a Baskettail Dragonfly I believe…….. none the less here is a Dragonfly on our place.
Buttonbushes Are Abloom!
Rust Reborn
Small Wonders
I was out early this morning trying the AEB (Auto Exposure Bracketing) setting on my Canon Powershot but was not having much success at getting my head around this new-found tool. Maybe it was a lack of coffee but I just could not dial it in so I headed back home. Along the way I found this little purple bloom and a Hoverfly resting upon it. Just what I needed. Nothing big just small wonders.
Louisville Skyline In B&W
B & W Delight
I took this photo with the camera I bought to replace my Vivitar Vivicam 8300s. It was a Canon Powershot S3is and though it is now deceased it was the one camera that I developed my eye with. I have always taken the shots I love but this camera helped me see just a little differently, with a little more self-critical approach . This photo is an example of that and I shot it in the B &W mode with the Powershot S3is.
Day Lillies Along The Fence Roll
It was about eight years ago I was re-bitten by the photograph bug. I was using a small mega pixel but huge bodied HP315 2.1mp camera my pops gave me. I was out with The Bride doing a little shopping when I came across a Vivitar Vivicam 8300s on sale. The Bride graciously encouraged me to buy the Vivicam 8300s and the journey continued. I can say if I had not purchased that camera I am not sure I would have pursued photography as I have. Thank you my Love for the encouragement. A desire for nature photography was just blooming, pun fully intended, and this shot of some Day Lillies Along The Fence Roll cemented it even further.
Chicory And A Sweat Bee
By Comparison
I have posted several shot of the Daisy Fleabane and the pollinators that visit there. So yesterday I took several more shots of them and of the little Sweat Bees that drop by for a fill-up. As I was watching several fly around I thought I should take a picture tat gave you all an idea of their sizes. The first shot is of a Fleabane along side of my Wedding Band by comparison. The second is of one the Sweat Bees on a Fleabane so you can see their size by comparison.
