Meet Dainty Dot , the now around Fifteen-year old kitten of Momma Cat. In my post An Old Cat Through An Old Lens I used a vintage SLR lens in the capture mated to a modern DSLR. In this shot I used a kit lens on a modern DSLR to capture the beauty of this wonderful offspring of a great Queen called Momma Cat. So I present an old cat’s kitten through a new lens.

WP Weekly Photo Challenge: Nighttime
I have tried other challenges and they really were of something I was comfortable with but nighttime shots? Well that is another thing all together. As a novice I am glad of one thing: Nighttime shots challenge ever skill level and this challenge I can see others entries and learn my place in the light. So here are my entries in the WP Weekly Photo Challenge: Nighttime
An Old Cat Through An Old Lens
Meet Momma Cat. I do not know how old she is but she has been with The Bride and I for about fifteen-years. When we bought our place the previous owner and our good friend Ms. Sue had not seen her in many months so she thought she was gone for good. Well that was not the case because five or so months after we moved in she brought us a litter of kittens right before a very bad thunderstorm. She knew she had to get her babies to safety and for the next several days the storms caused severe flooding and property damage. She had five-kittens, two of which we gave to new homes, of those left we loss one to cancer and the other to renal failure but she and one of her kittens are still with us. I felt it was time to get some captures of her and decided to use an old Minolta MD 28mm f2.8 lens in the spirit of her been vintage an all. So fitted with an adapter to work with my Sony A300 I took this and several others with just ambient light. This picture was the only one she sat still for with this lens. I decided not to edit the shot and just enjoy it as is. I present to you Momma Cat, an old cat through an old lens!

More Thistle Love
As I was waiting for the last load of wood pellets to loaded into the bed of JT I walked about a bit. As is the case more times than not areas that have no importance to a business image or bottom line usually gets little care. It is a case I am sure of “out of sight, out of mind” and in some cases this leads/adds to urban blight. Not the case here because nature has reclaimed the area and made it its own. This is made possible by a man-made drainage ditch which separates the homes, lining the back of this business, from the access road to the loading docks. Along the ditch trees have done well for themselves. This has minimized human intrusion and has allowed a green-space to flourish there. One of the plants growing there is Thistle, which some see in a very negative light. I see them as little filling stations for pollinators and since they have not taking over the green-space here I think it is because nature knows how to take care of its own. So here is some more Thistle love.
Little Hitchhiker
I was finishing up unloading somethings into the garage earlier today. As I was about to get in this little butterfly decided he was wanting to go for a ride. I was able to walk around and get my camera out of the passenger seat and snap a few shots. s I went to get into the truck the little hitchhiker thought it was better to fly and took off on the next leg of its journey.
Best Seat In The House
I spent yesterday morning and early afternoon winterizing our place for the coming cold weather. I still have a little work to do but I had a reservation for the best seat in the house at a lake camp party put on by some of my friends. I took this picture with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS1 set on the Pin Hole effect setting in the scene menu. I hope you like it and enjoy it as much as the three-hour plus set I viewed from the best seat in the house.
