The Rainbow Rose of Reconciliation

I took this picture of from a bouquet of make up flowers. The rainbow rose is not something I had seen before this one. I personally love red roses but dyed roses are pretty cool too. Since I still have no real new opportunity’s for photo ops I decided to try some inside shots. This is one of a few I have taken lately. I have cannot change the weather but I have come to grip with the fact that I will have to try new things to get my click fix. So I here by name this The Rainbow Rose of Reconciliation.

Tree Line Cradling The Moon

I just arrived home from working fourteen hours plus. Long hour plus bad weather equals no new photo ops. No photo ops equals no new posts. As a way to occupy my mind I thought about that on the last stretch of the winding road home. Several miles from my last couple turns something in my peripheral vision made me look out the window. There just for a wisp of a moment the moon was trying to peak through. It quickly was embraced by the clouds and the shroud of darkness was once again my companion. The upside was I knew right then what I wanted to post. Enjoy the tree line cradling the moon from the past Monday.

Sunset On Our Place In HDR

I took the set of three pictures needed to do a HDR merge with my Vivitar 8300s at sundown last night. I did not have my tripod handy, which is a necessity for great results on a HDR photo, so I used a barbed wire fence post top instead. Though not a perfectly aligned merge I am pretty happy with the results none the less. So here is a sunset on our place in HDR!

A Few At The Lake

The Bride and I made use of the sunshine today by going on a walkabout. I got to test drive my new-to-me Sony A300 and enjoy great company. The lake was not overly crowed because it is still somewhat chilly out but we did have a few feathered friends stop by. Also had a few non-fauna photo ops as well. I tested drove a few of the manual settings as well as auto-pilot. I tried the on board B&W as well. So here are a few at the lake.

Looking Forward By Looking Back

When the Sun shows up I get hopeful. Hopeful that Winter is heading out and Spring will bring us color, warmth and the green things back into the world. Today I was hopeful. Tonight not so much! As the biting and unrelenting wind showed up, with Winters bitter grip in tow, I turned to last Springs and Summers photo for solace. Here is a photo I took with my Olympus Sp-350. I have yet to find a sweet spot on this camera s far as focusing goes. It does however take a decent macro. So here is a salute to Spring and looking forward by looking back. Enjoy!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Two To Compare

The weather in our little corner of the world has been well blah! So in lieu of new photos I have been noodling in pictures-past to fill in till Mister Sunshine shows back up. I found the following two I had taken with my old Vivitar 8300s. One is simple point and shoot shot for comparison of the size of the moth to its surroundings. The next is a macro which I think came out very well of the same moth. So here is two to compare. Enjoy!
