Once again I have hit a dry spell of new captures. This time it is due to the season opening play at our local Playhouse. Our playhouse rocks, and after a rocky season for The Bride and I, it was good to see a great start to a potentially great season. As many legs were broken on stage and the night…uh, early morning arrived , I had to once again dip into the way-back-files. Here is a capture of several pollinators getting topped off for the road. Busy work day + Long work day= Thankful to have a job! Though I was unable to take advantage of any new photo ops, I grabbed one from the way-back file. Enjoy!
After driving umpteen miles for work today, I had to drive an hour plus to my dad’s place. Once there I replaced the radiator on The Brides ride. Since we were using his car he was glad to see me complete the task. On the way home night reclaimed its rightful place and the day move unto the next. With it came the Blue Moon. I was amazed and delighted by the light the Blue Moon was putting out. Since I have had little time to take any new captures as of recent, I went with one I took a few weeks back. Here is a Chicory plant basking in the sun.
I like the look and feel of rust in photography. One day I may be able to tell you why. Today is not that day so here is even more rust!
This being the last day of The Bride and I’s staycation we simply wanted to be. We wanted to be with good friends, eat well and enjoy the day. Well for the record it was a good day, a very good day.
The perfect bokeh is said to have smooth edges of the images outside the depth of field. In researching this technique I came across the simplest and best explanation at Ken Rockwell.com. There are also varies sites on how to do this technique digitally but I am trying my hand at it using only the camera’s setting and my talent luck. So with that said here is natures bokeh. Have you ever tried to take a picture of a Butterfly in-flight? I have and since I like macro that is form I attempted it in. The below is that attempt. I was using my Olympus SP-350 and well…..Hey come back here!
I have a difficult time with capturing the color yellow. Red is not much better but I took this a few weeks ago and thought I would share one of my better efforts. A red Zinnia with a little bit of yellow.
