For this weeks Ese’ s Weekly Shoot&Quote Challenge – Hot I am using one of my photos and a simple poem I wrote. I looked at a lot of quotes on Hot and found several I loved but I was drawn toward this instead. In the last eighteen-months I have lost the only two people I know who unconditionally loved me and had many of my old convictions challenged as well. At times like this one truly feels they are on fire. I feel this is a go0d thing to be severally challenged, even if it is just us looking at ourselves and testing if we are true to our humanity and all that entails. I wrote this at the beginning of that part of my personal journey.

2013 In Review by WordPress
I am a pretty clueless guy so I did not know really how many photos I uploaded and shared, nor how many visitors and views I had. I checked to see what was working and to challenge myself on the things that were not. After viewing my annual report I am amazed that so many people dropped by my place and commented on my stuff. It humbles me I am very thankful for you all.
I want to Thank WordPress, and their dedication to bloggers of all shapes, sizes and flavors, for the vehicle with which I have shared a sliver of my world with quite a few folks. The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared this 2013 annual report for my blog. Thanks again and here is to a wonder-filled 2014!
Here’s an excerpt:
The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 8,400 times in 2013. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 3 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Pondering Things and Taking Pictures
My Mom’s Memorial Service is tomorrow and as one can imagine there has been little else on my mind. She was much more than a mother. She was my Mom. She was an adviser, counselor and a disciplinary but she was fair and honest, without being mean, as they come.
She raised me to be my own person but also to be a caring person by her example. Actions truly speak louder than words. I could have done a lot worse as far as parents go but not any better. I have stated this to several people before and I will say it a gain here: I would wish my parents on anyone.
May your New Year be filled with courage to face the hardships, peace to see you safely through and Hope that all will be well in the end as you start the next chapter anew.
Peace, The Jagged Man

One For A Dear Friend
One thing about blogging I love is the friendships I have been blessed with here. Here is one for my dear friend at Snow Bird Press. And yes you should visit her place. It is a beautiful and wonder filled place where Art meets Haiku.

Three In One
You see three separate pictures within this picture if you really look for them: The pretty yellow flowers, the ginormous rock and the shadows gracing said rocks’ side. It takes all three to make the picture but each element can be a subject in and of itself. Maybe that is how real haiku writers see the world. I have no haiku for you but feel free to add your own!
