Hanging Tough

Every once in a while we all need to be reminded to care for not only what is ours but ourselves. Seems simple but life sure can get backasswards in a second even if we are paying attention. If you have or have had bouts with severe doubts, depression or suicide please seek help. I lost a friend over thirty years ago who did not seem to have a care in the world. We never suspected something was wrong but the evidence proved other wise. The cost was too damn high for me to try to find blame or to be consumed by self-doubt if I could have done more. So in the of light that past, yet very- here-in-now memory, and in the shadow of the very public death of one of my favorite comedians I cannot be silent. Supermoon From Last Night

I took this with my Canon Powershot SX260HS using the side of a telephone pole as a prop. I shot it in “Live” mode which allows me to adjust the temperature, color range ( vivid to neutral) and how bright I want it. Though I decided to not crop the shot I had to do a high pass sharpening on this pic.The lack of a tripod and being that at 39X zoom I was into the digital end of the zoom a bit it needed a little love. I was hoping for another pass with the SX260Hs tonight but we are boxed in by rain and such. Till the next time remember to take the shot…….and enjoy the moment.

White Blooms Among The Green

I must apologize for the lame, though accurate, post title. As I was finishing up the text on the photos the smoke alarm went off in the kitchen. Tonight though part of my dinner lays is a black smokey heap in the garbage I did learn one thing: The difference in smoke points in olive oil versus sesame oil. Instead of trying to look up this wonderful white bloom I will now post and go to Plan B for dinner.

Sun Porch

I love the little Spotted Jewelweed almost as much as Hummingbirds and Bumblebees. Almost. At this time of year they are blooming in spades on our place and the Hummingbirds and Bumblebees are busy feeding. Since I have been a little to busy and distracted to patiently seek out spots to photograph the birds and the bees here is one of a Spotted Jewelweed under its sun porch.
