Back To Basics

The Canon PowerShot S3is has been a faithful companion in my journey through the lens. I recently purchased a Canon PowerShot Sx260 HS that was quickly becoming my main weapon of choice in this journey.

Several weeks a go a good friend told me she was letting her daughter use her Canon SX10 this summer. I told her she could us the Sx260 HS since she likes journeying through the lens as much as I. Actually a little more than I do I belive and knew NOT having a camera was, well a cruel but noble sacrifice.

So as my SX260 heads out and about to parts unknown I turn back to my S3is and a used G3 I picked up a few weeks back. Here a few I took recently. Enjoy!

The head lights of a Classic Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible of unknown age.
A gardner snake in our back yard. Notice the head “puffed out” to imitate the triangle shape head of a poisonous snake.
A saluting Daisy.

The Monarch Butterfly

My first recollection of seeing a butterfly was of the Monarch Butterfly. As I prepare The Brides Minolta X-370 and load up my PowerShot S3is in search of the best “Super Moon” picture I can find I leave you with two of a Monarch Butterfly. I took these, I believe, back in 07 or 08. Enjoy!

The Super Moon Is Coming

The Super Moon is coming! The Super Moon is coming! I honestly had not a clue there was such a thing, or that it was coming, till I read a facebook post saying it was coming. So after a search on the web I now know the moon is as much as fourteen percent bigger and thirty percent brighter than other full Moons of 2012.

In honor of the Super Moon I present to you a picture I took back in 07 or 08  with my Canon PowerShot S3is of said moon. Enjoy!

I took this with a PowerShot S3is.

Taking A Moment From My Break

I still have tons to do and the list seems to grow but I found some photos I took in 2007 and 2008 I want to share with you. Over the next several days or so I hope to post a half of a dozen or so  of the first pictures I took with my Canon PowerShot S3is. Enjoy!

I took this moth or butterfly on our the tree The Bride calls Grandfather Apple Tree.

Poppies And A Stray Iris

The state has planted poppies and several other flowers at interstate exchanges. It reduces the area needing mowed and is very beautiful besides.
I took this picture with my new-to-me-auction-prize Canon G3. Need to learn how to use the thing.....

My Twenty-Fifth Post

Since starting my journey in the photo blog sphere I have come to realize a few things about myself. One is I like to display my stuff for others to see. Simply having something an not sharing makes me feel less. Two is I am not that great of a photographer technically but in my life I have stopped doing what I wanted because of a lack of skill. This is not one of those things I will stop doing as long as I am able. Thirdly and lastly, for now any who, is I do not seem to be afraid to shoot in about any type of a atmospheric condition. Here are two pictures taken in the last several days. One a nice sunny day and the other overcast. Enjoy!
