One thing about blogging I love is the friendships I have been blessed with here. Here is one for my dear friend at Snow Bird Press. And yes you should visit her place. It is a beautiful and wonder filled place where Art meets Haiku.
Today The Bride and I had the privilege to attend the street festival called Via Colori. Both the painters (and I) got a late start on the day because of early morning rains but all is well that ends well. I am posting a few pics tonight and tomorrow on the blog a little something different for me. I was nominated for The Sunshine Award by Rise and Shine and will be posting it later in the day. As you can see there was a wide range of subjects on display. As in life variety adds many hues and colors to the canvas and palates of our lives!
As a hack photographer I am blessed to have a supportive wife in this my photo blogging journey. I am blessed by those who follow, like and comment. I am blessed with having several cameras I can choose from. I am blessed at how wonderful my point and shots are. But all that means nothing if I did not follow through and do one thing: Take the shot.
The two following photos are examples of what I am talking about. One, the Rose, I took the photo in the full on midday sun. No filters were involved in the taking of this photo. I have been told midday sun is bad. Me? I went with my default setting: Take the shot.
The Thistle was taking early morning but almost facing the sun. I took it with my pops FujiFilm S700 he is loaning me. I wanted to catch the dew on the Thistle but knew my pops camera does macro only so-so. Once again I went with my default: Take the shot.
We can always wait for perfect equipment, the perfect weather, setting and such but life is oh, so very short so just take the shot.

After a dear friend was relived of her camera, by her youngest daughter for summer travels, I lent her my new Canon SX260 HS back in May. I had not taken very many pics with it but knew my friend, who has a photography problem like myself, needed it more than I. Her youngest daughter is back from seeing the world. The last pictures taken with this camera by my friend was of her other daughter as she returned from Afghanistan. I hope it served you well!
Now that it is back in fold I will, over the next few weeks, hopefully l get to know it and see what it can do. Until then here a few with the camera on full auto.
I have times when I have no other way to live but on the fly. I am trying out the scheduler feature on WordPress for those moments when I do not have a moment to post. The first was Saturday when I set up Sundays post because I knew I was going to be with the folks.
I would encourage you to set up a few drafts and when you know life will be a little exacting, “Poof” a little media posting magic!

I came upon this picture of our cat Freckles. Though we lost him this past winter to cancer we still have very fond memories of this lovable cat.He was with us twelve years and loved to climb trees,cars sheds, etc. I took this while he was guarding our place from the roof of the shed/storage building. Enjoy!
You see three separate pictures within this picture if you really look for them: The pretty yellow flowers, the ginormous rock and the shadows gracing said rocks’ side. It takes all three to make the picture but each element can be a subject in and of itself. Maybe that is how real haiku writers see the world. I have no haiku for you but feel free to add your own!
