My Kit
My Bride is very supportive of my creative endeavors and one passion I have is music. I sold my first real kit to my cousin when I decided to move to Texas back in the, well never mind. After spending three years or so there I moved back. Sometime between then and now I bought the kit back from my cousin and had plans on getting ready to play. Life and a few set backs later I have begun the journey to finish that project. The heads needed replaced badly so I bought new ones in hopes of using it in the play Big Fish. I will need new cymbal and high-hat stands plus a new bass pedal. My friend Chris is letting me use his till I can get my own. This photo is on my kit minus cymbals and stands I took this as we were striking the set after the final performance.

Big Fish the Musical
For all the fans of my place, both of you, I will now tell you what has occupied my for the last week. My friend Sarah ask me to play drums for the musical Big Fish. I had to missed all but two of the band rehearsals so this was tech week and three shows. The young men and women did an absolutely fantastic job putting this play on. This evening was our last performance and My Bride came out to the show and said it was as good as I thought it was.Now that things are kind of back to normal I hope to post a few shots I got to take around the theater. For now here are two I took in B&W. One is of the theater from my stage right position, though the curtains had not yet been closed in front of me to help control the volume of my drum kit. The other speaks for me as to one of the reasons I loved this show.

Flying Low
For the next week I will be involved in a project with a local high school. As a way to settle my being and gear up for the upcoming week I went to the lake. The wind was demanding attention by its never ceasing presence. With that said, I loved every minute hanging out in nature this morning and the rest of the day with My Bride. I learned a lot about my cameras abilities, and limitations, by failing. A lot. Yet I did muster a few keepers and I am still smiling just thinking about the day. For the next week I will not promise any posts but I will try to as time allows but for the most part I will be flying low.

This Evenings View

After a week of nothing but bad stuff in the evening news here is some good stuff, this evenings view.
My Gull Friends
This past Saturday I grabbed my old PowerShot S3is and headed to the lake. The Ring-billed Gulls are Wintering here and I had previously assumed they were sea gulls. A quick check of The Cornell Lab Merlin Bird ID app proved my assumption to be wrong. As much as the ducks at the lake hate these birds is about how much I love them. The fly in the wind when others do not and they seem to always be in motion. Since I have had no new attempts the past several days here are a two pics of my gull friends.
