Precious Sight

I spent most of today in pain and moderate discomfort from an issue with my eye. I tried to flush it myself but ended up going to an eye doctor. Turns out it was a sliver of wood stuck in my eye. Nice. I left the eye doctors and was going to take a walkabout but the eye, though no longer hurting, was still weeping a lot. I think I am an above average in being aware to how good most of us have it but I never realized how much impact not having vision in one of our eyes can impact ones life.

Since I was not comfortable going for a walkabout I went through some pictures I took Friday. The morning was humbly cool and I had a small window of time during a break in the rain. Here a few from that set. It is good to see them, though they are not my best, and to know how precious that is.

Buttonbush using my old barn as a backdrop…kind of. Missed by this….. much!
I look around a lot will on walkabout. Up, down and all around! I found this little flower and though I do not know what it is one thing is sure: It is tiny. See the next picture for comparison.
The comparison shot for the above picture. I told you the were tiny!
I believe this the flower of a plant called Common Mullein.
We have always called this a Night Shade flower but the correct name is Horse Nettle.

Rain Delay

Because of the much-needed rain showing up this weekend I have not taken but a few shots since last week late. So here are three of one of my favorite subjects while I am on rain delay! The top and bottom I took with my Minolta 35mm film camera in the morning one weekend. The middle with my beloved, and no longer working, Canon PowerShot S3is at dusk.

Taking Some Time

Life, as usually, has been unapologetic in its pursuit of keeping me busy. So the Bride and I have the next four days off from work and other preordained obligations.

Here are a few pictures from around our place I took this morning. I have not been able to do that for more weeks than I like to admit. It feels nice taking some time to breath in the moment.
