One From A Bit Ago

I took this photo with a friends Canon T1i and I just found it looking back through some pictures from a bit ago. I reflected on this picture because I sometimes feel like this old truck looks: Tattered and used up for the most part but the character of what we are, and were, shows through even after all these years.

Do not give in and never give up but keep on trucking!

Two For You

I have called this sweat bee an Augochloropsis metallica but it turns out it is a Agapostemon splendens. Not as cool as a name but still a sweet little sweat bee!
A moth. Not much to add to that.

An Atypical Monday

Today started out well, almost great I would venture to say. The day greeted me with the soft hum of dawns warmth.
I arrived at work thinking a smooth Monday, well honestly a smooth ANY day, would be nice. It was a quiet, not brightly lit but lovely kind of day.
I could not believe my good fortune of how smooth of a day it was! So as soon as Five O’Clock arrived I took off for the friendly skies of my life’s airways!

I hope your Monday was a great atypical Monday!

A Friend, A Walk, A Good Time

The Bride and I went for a walk this evening right after a small but unsuccessful rain storm moved through. The storm did bring relief from the heat so I will give it its due for that part of it’s responsibilities.

We walked about and had no other task before us than to enjoy ourselves and that is what we did. Here are a few shots from the walkabout in the windy cool haze of today.

Some Things From The Day

A lovely place to sit.

I would loved to had the time to sit here with a very large and cold glass of ice tea.

A Damselfly

This little wonder was no more than four inches long. I am surprised my Olympus SP350 was able capture this because of its spot evaluation issues.

Old metal made new again!

A symbol of muscle cars as I remember them! Barely.

Augochloropsis metallica: cool name even cooler bee!
Augochloropsis metallica: Cool name even cooler bee!

Steven Schwartzman, the author of a blog I follow called Portraits of Wildflowers, had posted an amazing shot of this cool little bee that I dig. My Sp350 did a good job of locking in on this shot….till the wind blew. Still like it though.

It’s Later

I had as much difficultly deciding whether to use “it’s” or “its” in the post title as I did with the shot evaluation on my SP350. Actually less so than coming to grips with this wonderful but aggravating camera! That will be an ongoing issue I am afraid but I have no choice to use it since my PowerShot S3is died and the battery on the G3 lasts about twenty or so shots. Trust me this is just an inconvenient reality not a real problem!

Well it is later and I am still riding the wave of inspiration from Mike’s Look at Life post of really cool old metal. Here are a few more and as much I hope you enjoy them please stay cool and be safe!
