The Moon Through An Old Lens
The Sony A3000 I own is my backup camera but it is also I camera I am learning a lot from. I decided a few months back to buy several adapters for old film lenses I own to work on the A3000. The only way to use these lenses is to shot on manual and I have to focus it manually. I shot manually on my A37 but the AF does the rest. With the A3000 that is not so and that makes me think more about what I am doing. This moon shoot (cropped for effect) is one example of how hard this can be. I took about a dozen shots using a tripod and this was the only keeper. Now the EVF (Electronic View Finder) on the Sony A3000, well it sucks and it is hard to see if you are actually in focus but you still have to get the rest setting right. So here is the moon through and old lens.

Here We Go!
The small boat dock at the lake was busy when I got there. Parents and children, both free of their respective roles of school and work, came out to enjoy the days end and the lake. With all the going to and fro, plus the fishermen, my best view of this bird box was blocked so I grabbed what came my way. As I sit here getting ready to post I have been looking through my pics and planning what photos to print for and up coming Spring Festival. In that vein this photo is a metaphor for me, so here we go!

What A Lady
This is the fourth year without a mom on Mothers Day. Each one has found me in a melancholy state of mind yet grateful for all the years I was blessed yo have her in my life. Here is to you Mom, What a Lady!

A Little Pollen Covered Pollinator

Test Drive
Life is without a doubt the most wonderfully absurd thing around. Contradiction wrapped in reality. Reality wrapped in contradiction. Truth being subjective to our sphere.Facts lost in culture and economics only to reappear when one accepts a couple of things: We are all in this together, we are all human and share a wondrous and lovely blue marble set against the backslash of space. That all came to me as I sat by the lake, taking a little point and shot camera I bought for My Bride for a test drive. These pictures are a reminder of what I and future generations will miss if we cannot fix our onward march to Earth’s destruction.

Bumbling Along

Time Is Flying By
Time is flying by and things are seriously crazy still but I am miss posting here. So here are a couple of Osprey from a few weeks back.

I’ll Bee Back
The last three weeks or so have been pretty intense and it is going to be more so for the next week or so. Life is crazy without anything added in the mix but life with a nursing school student, who happens to be my wife, is a new kinda crazy. So in that vein (nice play on words,no?) I am taking a few days, weeks, who knows what, off to get some thing done around the place and support the coolest thing since the lava lamp and Corgis, My Bride. Peace~John

Sunday Fun
Seventy-three degrees and a nice 5-6mph breeze have made sitting on the front porch rather enjoyable. My Bride and Her Corgi are inside now after spending a few hours outside under the old Maple tree studying, she blood disorders and he anything that flew by. Me, taking pictures and using my Sony A3000 trying a few new things. Now I am chilling with Butterfly while the grill is finishing up our dinner. Here is one I took while playing with an old film lens that was made by Minolta for Leica right after WW II.
