Black & White Sunday: Delicate

Yesterday evening I had an idea of what pictures and what angle I was going to approach this challenge.Today the angle changed but surprisingly the pictures did not.Yesterday  I looked at the photo of the flower, a wildflower called Fleabane with a bloom about the size of my thumbnail,  and how the delicate petals were able to cradle a drop of rain.I looked at the hand of my Mother-In-Law and how the new ring my sister-in-law gave her shows just how delicate her aged hands are. That was yesterday.

Today I look at the drop of water in the delicate caress of the flower’s petals as a symbol of hope. Today I look at the aged hands as a blessing, for old age is a gift denied many. Why the change? Because today I received a 60-second  phone call that brings into focus why it is important to enjoy every second we have. It is because of that call that tomorrow I have to find a way to comfort old friends and grieve with them at the loss of their child. It is because of that call that I treasure today for life is truly delicate.

I am a 59 year old guy who is asking questions about life like "what does it all mean?" and " how come hair will not grow on my head but grows real fast on my ears and back?" you know the deep stuff. I believe in Jesus Christ and that He died for all. The rest I am still working on.
