This is Part I of the my trip down memory lane of a hotel I used to love and then came to despise. This picture is of what used to be a full functioning kitchen. Our friends Cindy and Pete would meet My Bride and I for dinner at the hotel’s restaurant back in the early to mid 90’s. The hotel was a Holiday Inn I believe at this time and was state of the art for the period. The ambiance was delightful and the food top-notch then but then there is this photo of where it is now. I did not step into the kitchen but took this from the door way as to respect the posted no trespassing signs. As you can see there is no hint to its Past Glory.
What is hanging from the ceiling and what is all over the floor? Looks like one of those bars where people tack $1 bills to the ceiling and add a message!!!
What you are seeing is the paint peeling off the ceiling. As far as the floor it is paint chips, debris from where the kitchen equipment, copper wires and wiring was ripped out. Those were most likely stolen if I am guessing right.
Knew it wasn’t dollar bills, but had to note the similarity. Thanks for answering my questions. I’ve got a million of ’em. Such as–why did you start hating this restaurant? Another post?
Not the restaurant specifically and yes I will answer why in later post(s).
