Memorial Day is supposed to be the day we here in America remember our fallen military men and women. It has became something less but I realize not everyone has had the experiences and the parenteral examples I have.
So to those Families of the Fallen and the Fallen themselves: Thank You.
Pondering Things and Taking Pictures
Several weekends back I had the opportunity to witness a small town parade. As a cold October rain fell the boys and girls of the FFA and a ROTC color guard lead the way. It had politicians on stump wagon tours, local businesses ,old cars and trucks as well as some very old farm tractors. Somewhere in the last part of the pack I saw a truck with what appeared to be an American flag or two raised above the bed. As this truck came closer I felt an unexpected wave of emotion. The rain was now a second thought yet me eyes did not know this. As the truck past I walked beside it for several feet and looked at the folks within in and said “Thank You”. It felt good to finally be able to say the words.
