A Cardinal Alighting On A Branch

After the events of today I needed a little nature therapy. I grabbed my camera and headed up the road looking for some color. Then I saw this Cardinal. I started tracking this Cardinal hoping it would land close so I could get a good shot of it. He was quite active and I was watching to see if there was a spot he was favoring. I was not having any luck so I just stopped and watched him flirt around a bit. I saw him land fairly close to me and decided to try tracking him with my camera. Suddenly he took off and landed on this branch and I quickly snapped this shot. Score! I not only had the pleasure of watching a beautiful bird but I got a lucky capture as well. The therapy session was a success.

I am a 61 year old guy who is asking questions about life like "what does it all mean?" and " how come hair will not grow on my head but grows real fast on my ears and back?" you know the deep stuff. I believe in Jesus Christ and that He died for all. The rest I am still working on.

  1. I’m so glad you did this, Jagged Man. We all needed a reminder that there is some beauty in this world.

    1. They are lovely birds and I wish you had some there to. They are amazing in several ways: One is they mate for life and secondly both are very active in raising their young. The male Cardinal, shown here, are a vibrant red while the female a muted reddish-brown color. This color helps her blend in to their habitat while nesting.
I am sorry I have not commented lately but hopefully will get by your wonderful place soon.

      1. Oh, there is nothing to be sorry, Jagged. I am quite happy that you keep blogging. 🙂 Thank you for your brief information on the cardinal. You may know this, I always look for this bird in every Zoo I visited but never found it.
