I received an e-mail from Topaz Labs about their Topaz Adjust challenge. I received a copy of Adjust 5 when I bought a package deal from Corel last Winter. I haven’t used it because, well I forgot I had it. There you go. I went in and noodled around a bit using Adjust 5 on this photo of possibly the coolest Ford truck I have every laid my eyes on. Let me know what you think and I may submit it to Topaz Lab’s challenge.

As I mentioned in a previous post I thought I was going to miss my favorite Cruise. As it turned out I was able to work and still get to enjoy many wonderful old hot rods and a few new ones. Starting off I felt I needed to try shooting things from a new angle. I have attended this Cruise for several years so challenging myself to see “differently” seemed a natural thing to do. I started taking snaps kneeling down, and though I liked the feel of the photos, the knees did not. Yet I pressed on and as I approached the square more and more cars had fired up their mechanical beasts and joined the cruising part of a cruise. As they drove by I positioned myself so I could take advantage of the last available light. It turns out kneeling is also the best position to get great shoots of some very old and cool iron beasts as they cruise by. Oh, many of them stopped to accommodate this photo-hog. My spirit was refreshed by this simple gesture. On the next-to last leg of my walkabout I came upon the same car I took photos last year of and used in my post about missing the Cruise.Sweet! As I let my eyes flow over the lines of this wonderful but understated piece of iron and mechanical art I noticed the paint color was subtly different. I took a few more shots and headed out to check out some of the live music being offered before the work day caught up with me. I had only walked a few blocks when I  came upon a heavily messaged and lowered truck in matte black. I took a few quick snaps and continued on in search of some auditory pleasure.I found it at my favorite-yet-soon-to-be-closed place the Wild Earth Gallery & Pub. A throw back to hipper times this trio + one knocked the musical ball out of the park with sweet yet sexy vocals backed up by a stand-up bass, jazzed driven drums and soul-infused guitar player. So before I head to Z-Town here is something old. something older and some (photo captured ) live music!

The Bride finished up her Summer semester today and started a small break before her 2nd semester in the RN program starts. We spent the evening at our favorite spot, The Wild Earth Gallery & Pub, to celebrate. As were talking the Gallery’s owner and she told us she was being evicted and had till September 1st to be out. Right now I do not feel up to telling the why’s and what’s but tonight in our little town Art Lost.

Being a grown-up, mostly, sometimes can get in the way of our fun. That is what will happen this coming weekend.I have to work and will miss most of a Cruise I love dearly, though a little planning may allow me to get some early snaps in. Here is one from last year and I really cannot complain because I have seen one Cruise, that is one more than a lot of folks have. Counting my blessing, may you make the space to count yours.
