Black & White Sunday: Light

I am joining Paula’s Black & White Sunday: Light with a lot on my plate but these challenges give me a little space to breath. My Bride is having a problem with her inner ear and it causing problems with her clinical participation. As a nursing student you do not get to use the automated blood pressure machine when checking a patients BP. She went to and ENT specialist and he has her on several medication to try and clear it up. One is a medicine that she does not do well on but there is no reliable substitute. I looked at this challenge and thought she has come so far I hate her struggle here at the time the light at the end of the tunnel is a light, not a train. Keep her, if you will, in your thoughts and prayers as we together move forward  battered and bruised.

The first B&W was taking one late night two years or so ago and was originally shot in color. This was around the time My Bride started taking the first courses needed to getting admitted to RN school. She was still working at the time and took Anatomy and Physiology 101 online. We had just finished her labs and turned in her home work and needed to decompress a little. When I say we I mean I was her lab monkey partner and it was a wild ride for both of us. I set my old trusty Canon PowerShot S3 is on a mini-tripod played with the settings till I got this shot: All the lights are lit on the stop lights.

That should be “Photography”

The second is the marque of the State Theater in our home town. I like this shot and I hope you do too.

Strangers In Mid-Flight

Today was a wonderful day to be outside and I made the most of it. I took this with my Canon S3is that I thought was locked up in my cabinet. I searched for my key again, for the millionth time, and found the S3 tucked away inside my drop-top desk. I will have to get a key cut next week since my keys are AWOL. Besides there is one sure way to find them and that is to get another key………

Where Have You Been?

The one thing we have had in abundance this Winter is gray days. Today was unseasonably warm and windy but the Sun did show up and stayed around for most of the day. By mid-afternoon though the clouds had moved in so I did not expect seeing this tonight. As My Bride and I left town heading home, after a rare dinner out, this fellow showed up. I asked him “Where have you been?”I got now reply as would be expected. Since I have lost the key to the cabinet I keep my cameras in I went with my  Canon Powershot SX260HS that I leave in my car in case I forget my DSLR. I took this  using my old Ford pickup as a make shift tripod.

Out Of My Comfort Zone Update

In a previous post I mentioned I had entered Corel Discovery Matter of Time contest. I was not chosen as a finalist nor did I win the Poplar vote. I did garner 17 votes and looking at the works of the finalist I still liked mine the best but I am a little biased. So what next? I am going to have the photo I submitted ( I sent two but only one made it, not sure where the other went) printed and will sell it through a booth I have at a small shop in my area. That is another thing I am doing is selling locally for now and expanding to the web sometime this Spring. Till the next time, pun intended, another of my watch photos.
