Black & White Sunday: Close Up/Macro

Life has been a little crazy lately and I do not get to visit my favorite places on the web as often I would like to. Being a grown-up sucks but what are you going do, right? As time allows I visit a few go-to-spots with  Paula’s Lost In Translation at the top of the list. So when I saw this week’s Black & White Sunday challenge  I decided to join the fun. Then I realized I have not been out shooting much lately and for those who know me adapting something from the archives is not my favorite thing. Since the next week is full of grown up obligations I focused on the things within my personal sphere to photo for this challenge.

The Zippo lighter was thrift shop find and the ring was a gift from My Bride. When I rearranged the study to better accommodate her needs as she continues her RN course I added these to my Lab, aka work space. The reflection off the lighter caught my eye so I decided that was my subject. Here is the results.

Thursday’s Special: Calm

In response to Thursday’s Special @ Paula’s Place Lost In Translation I decided to be calm right where I was at. In that moment. In the very place in space in time. I grabbed my Panasonic DMC-ZS1 and photographed our outside/inside-in-cold-weather cat Butterfly in her natural calm state as Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah plays in the background. Calm is restored and all is well as we ready for the next storm.
